Campus Reform - Campus coffee shop evicts College Republicans from 'safe space'

One of the College Republicans told Campus Reform, "We went there because we wanted to test the unwritten rule that conservatives were banned from that coffee shop, We went there and just started doing some homework and studying. Then we were asked to leave. We are tuition paying students, therefore we should be able to use any building on campus that we want."

No. You went there to video a confrontation. Be honest. And that's a good thing. But you had no plan for what to do next. Worse, you looked like whiney kids arguing with the hall monitor. Then, apparently, you caved and left. Unless it was your intention to prove College Republicans can be insulted and ejected without consequence by a coffee shop waitress, this is an epic fail.

And no, you weren't "asked" to leave, you were ordered to leave. Rudely and loudly. No adult, certainly no man, defers to an unhinged snowflake whose authority extends to dispensing coffee and making change. If you believe you "should be able to use any building on campus" then do so.

Pull a Rosa Parks. Be calm, be polite, call her bluff. Leave when you're ready to leave. No speeches, no righteous posturing, let her escalate with no prompting from you. Resist the urge to look like you've smelled something bad and light up a cheroot, Clint Eastwood style. Maybe she'll go full retard and have you officially ejected. If Fordham backs her up it's 'game on'. Plan, m' man. They do.

Watch this video. It shows an unarmed man in a motel hallway crawling on his knees as ordered, sobbing and pleading for his life. Slightly drunk, he tries his best to keep up with the cop's Simon Says game. But not well enough. The cop killed him anyway. At his trial he said he feared for his life . He was acquitted. He said he'd do it again the same way. There's no reason to doubt him.

Officer safety is not the highest mandate, nor does it justify killing the innocent for the merest twitch. If he'd murdered an illegal alien like this, or anyone other than a white guy, they'd burn Mesa Arizona to the ground. Even so, for this event and others like it, where the presumption of guilt is equated with expendability, there are always unknowable consequences.

The 1949 DeSoto was the first all-new model since 1942. Notice the tail fin bud. DeSoto dates from 1928 when it was first fielded as Chrysler's low priced brand. Through the years it was continually repositioned above and below Dodge and Plymouth. Eventually it was seen as a nuisance and discontinued in 1961 . DeSoto sold well and was known within the industry as well made and a good value.

Vegetarianism isn’t just a lifestyle choice, but a feminist act.

Bitcoin, Ars Technica - The Bitcoin bubble and tulip bubble are both somewhat unusual because the assets being traded aren't expected to produce any kind of revenue for their owners. When someone buys a technology stock, they expect the company to eventually become profitable and pay dividends. Bitcoin owners don't get interest, dividends, or other benefits from holding bitcoins. It's like a technology stock that's going to be pre-revenue forever. The military’s leadership has a responsibility to push back hard when told to do anything that would dilute the fundamental responsibility to win wars. For the past two decades, the U.S. military has put more effort into combating climate change and training to prevent sexual harassment than it has into training warriors to kill the enemy. It is time for a shift away from the rudderless drift that has plagued the military since the end of the Cold War and Operation Desert Storm. Battle-hardened commanders who excel at killing too often are passed over for promotion in favor of those with multiple degrees from elite universities who self-select each other for advancement.
